MDT is currently coordinating with the City of Billings to identify necessary traffic control measures that assure the safest and most convenient plan feasible for the traveling public as well as the construction personnel.
Based on current design concepts, it has been determined that the Parkhill & 13th Street intersection will require closure for a portion of the intersection realignment work. The actual duration of the intersection closure will be determined based on the anticipated construction rates of critical activities once design is completed. At this time, it is expected to be less than 1 month.
A map is available showing the signed through traffic detour routes currently planned for use during the intersection closure.
Essentially, northbound traffic on N 13th St W will be detoured off N 13th St W, west onto Grand Ave, north onto N 17th ST W, and east onto Poly Dr, back to N 13th St W (reversed for southbound). Eastbound through traffic on Parkhill will be detoured off Parkhill, north onto N 17th St W, east onto Poly Dr, south onto Virginia Ln, back to Parkhill (reversed for westbound). Local traffic will be allowed in the vicinity throughout construction.
